Celtx – Open Source Storyboarding

March 10th, 2007

Blender is an amazing tool for 3D production and post-production but what about animation pre-production? Alot of projects begin by creating a website, installing a forum, a blog, a content management system such as DotProject and then kind of slap it all together. Although doable, I was gladly surprised that there is an open source creative commons licensed software that combines all of the features for pre-production into one software. Matte Paiting

March 9th, 2007

I love matte painting and although I’m not very good at it I like to touch up photography or composite them together into fantasy worlds and such. one of my favorite sites for this feature is MattePainting.org. I was doing some research on techniques for matte painting and such and found a link on 3D World (the September 2006) issue and in the article it said to practice using the clone tool – alot! So I decided to brush up on my painting skills (no pun intended). Read the rest of this entry »

New Theme

March 2nd, 2007

I’ve been playing around with the idea of redoing my website for 2007 and have finally decided to go ahead and do it. Although he had already contracted another developer I decided to do a 30 minute mockup any way.

Geneome.net Shout Out

February 24th, 2007

I don’t usually do this but I feel like it is extremely deserving. Eugene Reilly of BlenderNation and Geneome has got to be one of the best Blender contributors/educators out there. I have been so impressed with his dedication to providing and maintaining such high quality video tutorials! Even with the unfortunate down time on his website he has compiled a list of formidable tutorials. So, here’s my kudos to Geneome! Good job Eugene!

Sculpt Mode

February 14th, 2007

I was over at BlenderBuilds (which is a great project) and decided to download the latest Blender build (2.43RC3) and it was pleasantly surprised by the incredible new features! Among the best new features are Render Channels for Compositor Nodes, the new Sculpt Mode, and the Multires Settings. I know that there are alot of other but these are by far my favorites!
