Greybeard has done it again with a great new tutorial on creating telephone cord in Blender. As with all of his video tutorials the care for details and quality have impressed us. If for anything, it is worth taking a look at this just for seeing how professional a video tutorial can be. Read More »
Color Cubes is my new animation which was inspired by love for color, physics, and of course the Compositor. It was me just playing but when I saw the amazing colors it produced I couldn’t help but make it a full fledged animation. I didn’t get around to adding music but I sure wanted to.
My regular visitors were starting to wonder what had become of my ramblings and I’m glad to announce that I didn’t go anywhere - simply been busy writing articles for BlenderNation. I’ve written enough to tide them over for a while so now I can get back to My Blog. For those interested in the different articles I wrote, they are listed below:
Well, I got a little time to play around with Blender’s drivers and new deform modifiers etc. And was quite impressed. I also played around with Nurbs and found them extremely useful for generating quick geometry. I assembled all my testings into one fun animation featuring lattices, custom drivers, animated hair, and fun animated eyes:
Well it’s not every month that I get to play with Blender and have two portfolio additions right in a row but when inspiration hits there’s no reason to stop it! I’ve created another interesting photo inspired by long hours of boredom while doing homework! I call my new creation Pencil Head:
I’ve added another image to my portfolio. This was a modelling exercise and another chance to play around with the awesome node system. I added DOF (forground and background), node materials on the controller and messed with color curves, glow filters, and alot of other little things. The end result was a pretty realistic (inspite of the low resolution wood texture and the low resolution modelling on the controller’s joystick mounts which I felt was good enough to add to my portfolio. I call it Gamer and is a tribute to one of my favorite pass times!
For a while now Blender has had the rigid body to IPO function but I’ve never been able to find a really good video tutorial on how they are done until recently when I visited Eugene’s (www.geneome.net) website. This tutorial is a great refresher and showcases a few new features since Blender 2.42. Definately worth checking out:
Interested in making realistic Earth models with stunning topography and recent climat changes? NASA, the ever popular space program has once again amazed us with high resolution photographs of our great planet Earth.
Coming from the “old school” of Blender and still having old tutorials fresh in my mind, I was shocked when Wybren van Keulen showed me something at Siggraph that came out of the blue. In Blender you can work with shape keys in the Action Window rather than just in the IPO Window.
